Clint Eastwood’s gritty drama, Gran Torino finally drops on DVD June 9th. For those who missed out on seeing it in the theater, Eastwood’s 4 directorial feature in two years received an 80% certified fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Set in Detroit, Eastwood plays Walt Kowalski a bitter, proud man who doesn’t have aproblem speaking his mind whether it’s commenting on his grandchildren’s behaviour or racist stereotypes about his neighbours.
Gran Torino will be released in standard definition in both a widescreen and full screen format (why can’t they just release it in widescreen?) as well as Blu-ray. The release seems to be light on features which is disappointing. One called “Manning the wheel” looks at Manhood and cars. The other “More than a car” looks at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit.
