CBS Cancels ‘Viva Laughlin’

In a move that should surprise…well…no one, CBS came to its senses and pulled the plug on the dismal ‘Viva Laughlin’, the Hugh Jackman series. The cancellation comes after only two airings of the show, a Thursday premiere and then it’s regular time slot on Sunday. Laughlin had 8.4 million viewers on Thursday, only 40% of the CSI lead-in. The number dropped to 6.8 million on Sunday.

There was only a 13 episode order and they were filming episode 9 when it was shut down. The show had a musical premise and starred Melanie Griffith along with Jackman. No word yet, but we’re assuming the unaired episodes will be torched and then returned to hell.

In it’s place will be CSI reruns until The Amazing Race kicks in on November 4.
